One of the regions leading mental health providers, Flourish Australia, put a spotlight on men’s health in Moree on Wednesday.

A men’s health day was organised at the local office themed around “good physical health improves mental health and wellbeing”.

Barber Rachel Smith of Stagg and Co and Amcal Pharmacy staff were on hand to help the men feel and look better.

Flourish manager Claire Gillan said male mental health workers Jarrod Cutmore and Bruce Jones suggested hosting the day to put a spotlight on issues that don’t get talked about every day.

“Men don’t often open up easily and speak about their issues; especially around physical and mental health.

“Particularly in our culture men don’t visit the doctor regularly or see health professionals so this men’s health day was a starting point to improving their physical health,” she said.
