OVER $400,000 in Federal Government grants will be made available via the New England Partners in Recovery program for local people living with mental health issues.

Local community organisations can apply for grants worth between $6000 and $40,000 which will be overseen by leading mental health service provider RichmondPRA.

RichmondPRA CEO Pam Rutledge said that the grants will make an enormous difference to people with a mental health issue as they approach and use the services of a range of local organisations

“This is all about encouraging organisations to come up with coordinated and innovative ways of improving services for some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in the community,” she said.

“Each applicant will have to demonstrate how they can use the grants to ensure that people with a mental health issue get the right help at the right time and are supported on their recovery journey

“This fits with the philosophy of Partners in Recovery, which required local services to work in a coordinated manner and offer tailor-made services to people with mental health issues.”
