Partnership offering hope | North West Magazine

For the first time a local mental health partnership is offering a variety of grants to community organisations across the New England to improve their responsiveness to local people living with mental health issues.

$405,000 is available as the next phase of the New England Partners in Recovery program, an Australian Government initiative being delivered by local mental health services and overseen by leading mental health service provider RichmondPRA. RichmondPRA is now calling on some 50 local community organisations to apply for grants worth between $6000 and $40,000.

The organisations include not-for-profit accommodation and job providers and health and education organisations.

Each applicant will have to demonstrate how they can use the grants to ensure that their organisation will reform in order to provide people with a mental health issue get the right help at the right time and are supported on their recovery journey. This fits with the philosophy of Partners in Recovery, which required local services to work in a coordinated manner and offer tailor-made services to people with mental health issues.
