Youths' vital Headspace | Bankstown Canterbury Torch

YOUNG people from Bankstown and surrounding areas are being encouraged to visit the new Headspace Centre which has been formally launched by key stakeholders (pictured).

Having opened to the public in March, the centre has already assisted more than 100 local young people aged between 12 and 25 with mental health support and counselling and general health, education, employment and alcohol and drug services.

Managed by Richmond PRA, chief executive officer Pamela Rutledge said Bankstown's youth had embraced Headspace at an early stage.

"Headspace is all about addressing mental health issues early so that young people can get on with their lives," she said.
