2010s: A time of transformation and growth

A time of transformation and growth.

The 2010s were a defining chapter in our journey, marked by strategic evolution, national recognition and a renewed focus on impact. We strengthened our commitment to recover-oriented practice, expanded our services, and embraced new ways to demonstrate the value of our work. We grew our Peer Workforce and pioneered National leadership, expanded into Queensland and established an entirely Peer Work service in Hervey Bay.

National coverage was achieved with ABC 7:30 Report for important evaluations, including:

  • The release of very encouraging outcomes with our Women & Children’s Program, which would inform a future model jointly funded by the Commonwealth and State Governments.
  • A survey on social attitudes, and findings from our work with young people in Western Sydney, at the centre of a major Sydney Symposium we organised surrounding cannabis and mental illness.

Facing increased competition for funding, Richmond Fellowship of NSW and Psychiatric Rehabilitation Australia merged to form RichmondPRA. With shared values and a united vision, we became one of Australia’s most significant mental health NGOs. Our new tagline said it all: “Together we’re better.”
