Harmony Week 2026 is a national celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity and a time to reflect on what brings us together. Held from Monday 16 to Sunday 22 March, Harmony Week recognises the many cultures, languages, traditions and experiences that shape our communities and workplaces, while promoting inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
The theme for Harmony Week 2026, “Everyone Belongs,” is a powerful reminder that belonging is not something people should have to earn. It is something we create together — through understanding, respect and meaningful connection.
Why Harmony Week Matters
Australia is one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world. Our diversity is built on more than 65,000 years of First Nations cultures and strengthened by people who have come to Australia from many different parts of the world. These diverse backgrounds, stories and perspectives enrich our communities and contribute to who we are as a nation.
Harmony Week is an opportunity to celebrate this diversity while also acknowledging the importance of addressing racism and discrimination. The week includes 21 March, the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, which encourages reflection and action to challenge discrimination wherever it occurs.
Harmony Week at Flourish Australia
At Flourish Australia, Harmony Week reflects our commitment to creating environments where people feel respected, valued and able to be themselves. We recognise that cultural identity, lived experience and community connection play an important role in mental health and recovery. Harmony Week provides an opportunity to reflect on how we listen, learn and work alongside diverse communities — reinforcing our shared belief that everyone belongs.
How Harmony Week Is Marked
Harmony Week is symbolised by the colour orange, which represents meaningful conversations, mutual respect and social connection. Wearing orange is a simple way to show support for an inclusive Australia and to spark conversations about belonging and diversity.
Across the country, Harmony Week is marked in schools, workplaces and communities through events, conversations and shared experiences that bring people together and celebrate what makes each of us unique.
