Medicare Mental Health Check In launches self-guided service

Are you feeling down, stressed or overwhelmed? Do you think you might be experiencing mild mental health challenges? If so, you might like to try the Medicare Mental Health Check In, which now offers both self-guided and guided support.

The online service offers early support, before mental health challenges escalate, through evidence-based low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LiCBT). It’s free, confidential and accessible online to anyone over 16 who lives in Australia.

The service is flexible to support your individual needs, goals and preferences. The focus is on small, manageable steps to help build confidence over time.

Self‑guided support allows you to work through the tools independently, any time and anywhere, at your own pace. Guided support offers additional support and allows you to work through the tools with a qualified mental health practitioner via telehealth. Guided support is delivered over several sessions. Each program takes around six weeks to complete.

To find out if the service is right for you, visit the Medicare Mental Health Check In website.
