Our peer workers are walking their talk, to save lives

Walking alongside people on their mental health recovery journey is what Flourish Australia is all about and Peer Worker Lola Oliver has assembled a team of colleagues who will each walk 96km this March, to raise vital funds in support of Veterans and their families.

We want to see Veterans flourishing with Flourish Australia, so we are walking our talk by taking part in the March On Challenge with Soldier On, a not-for-profit organisation that provides holistic support to personnel who have been physically or psychologically impacted by their service. The significance of walking 96km is that it’s the length of the Kokoda Track, where many Australian soldiers were wounded, or lost their lives, defending Australia from invasion. As Peer Workers, we understand how life changing Peer Support can be and by sponsoring us, you’ll save lives by helping these heroes get the support they need, to march on.

A donation of just $37 will make a Peer Support session available to 3 Veterans, $425 will cover sessions for 34, and $500 will sponsor a Pathways event to connect 25 Veterans with prospective job opportunities. Every donation of $2 or more is tax deductible.

You may not be up for getting your trainers on and joining us but you can still get behind our team, and the wonderful Peer Support Flourish Australia provides, by jumping online and making a donation to our fundraising page.
