National NAIDOC Week 2025 will be held across Australia from 6-13 July, celebrating and recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
This year’s theme: The Next Generation
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy. It marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week in Australia, celebrating the achievements of the past and the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our nation’s ancestors.
Events and activities
NAIDOC Week will be marked by a diverse lineup of events and activities across the country – from art exhibitions and community festivals to sports tournaments and storytelling sessions. Each event offers an opportunity to celebrate, connect, and deepen our understanding of First Nations cultures, histories and traditions. The week is celebrated not just in the First Nations communities but also in increasing numbers of government agencies, schools, local councils and workplaces.
Visit the NAIDOC Week website to find events happening near year. You may also want to plan your own celebration.
