Mental Health Month 2025: Taking Steps on Your Wellbeing Journey

October 2025 marks Mental Health Month, with the theme: "Taking Steps on Your Wellbeing Journey." The focus is on practical, compassionate ways to support mental health. It’s a reminder that wellbeing is a journey—sometimes with side steps or setbacks—and every step forward counts. 

Mental Health Month is a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and promote help-seeking behaviours. It’s also a time to celebrate resilience, creativity, and community—and this year, it’s especially meaningful for Flourish Australia as we mark 70 years of supporting people with lived experience of mental health challenges.

Celebrating 70 Years of Flourish Australia

Since 1955, Flourish Australia has been walking alongside people on their mental health journeys. This milestone anniversary is not just a celebration of our history, but a reaffirmation of our commitment to recovery, inclusion, and empowerment.

Throughout October, our sites across NSW will host a variety of events that reflect the spirit of this year’s theme. Here are just a few highlights:

Surry Hills: Annual Art Exhibition – Buckingham House

Join us at Buckingham House for Flourish Australia’s Annual Art Exhibition, a powerful showcase of artworks created by people with lived experience of mental health challenges. Each piece is a step, a story, and a symbol of resilience—reflecting creativity, connection, and community. The exhibition beautifully embodies the theme “Taking Steps on Your Wellbeing Journey.” RSVP today.

Young: Rock for Recovery – Carrington Park

26 October | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Carrington Park will come alive with music, energy, and inspiration at our Rock for Recovery event. Featuring a Battle of the Bands, live performances, and guest speakers, this event aims to raise awareness and spark conversations around mental health in regional communities.

Whether you’re an artist, a musician, a supporter, or simply someone want to learn more about mental health, we encourage you to step forward and take part in these meaningful events.

Online: Let’s Do Lunch Webinar

For those who prefer to connect virtually, we’ll be hosting our Let’s Do Lunch Mental Health Month webinar. This online event will offer insights, stories, and practical tips for taking steps on your wellbeing journey—no matter where you are.
