A message from our CEO - December 2025

Like many, last night I watched the Bondi Memorial. It was a touching event reminding us of the strength in our diversity as a community, and as a Nation. The horrific event of 14 December always risked being historical point of inflection, which increased the sense of facture and division. However, the last week has shown us coming together, a rejection of hate, and a recommitment to being there for each other. How reassuring that is.

For me, it has re-emphasised the importance of being anti-racist. This last week has been an example of how we can and must challenge anti-semitism. It is also a good reminder that we need to be that person every day in relation to all difference, to actively include people and fight against racism and exclusion at every opportunity. In that regard, the Australian Human Rights Commission’s anti-racism campaign, There’s nothing casual about racism is a great resource.

As we head into the Festive Season, it is a good time to reflect on the previous twelve months. This month we include a link to our 2025 Annual Report which, along with the recovery stories, describes much of what we have done. This is emphasised  by significant progress in our Strategic Plan 2024-2027. It had been a busy year, and 2026 is shaping up to be just as busy.

As we end the year I want to thank each of you for your support and encouragement. We operate in an increasingly difficult environment, with many challenges. But, despite those challenges we continue to be committed to supporting people on their recovery journeys. It’s what inspires us every day; supported by each of you.

We wish you all the very best for the Festive Season and look forward to sharing with you the many great things happening at Flourish Australia in 2026.
