Today is Never Give Up Day.
The day encourages us all to cultivate a mindset of determination, which helps us to get through life's challenges.
While ‘never giving up’ it’s a wonderful mantra to live by, it is often easier said than done.
We have put together a list of tips to help you stay on track.
- Start by pausing, not quitting. Sometimes its ok to take a moment off work to reflect. Pausing doesn’t mean quitting. By taking a short break, you can reflect on what you need to do and the steps you must take to achieve your goals.
- Stay positive and surround yourself with positive people. Setbacks happen to us all, which is why it’s important to stay connected to people who are positive and support you when things become difficult.
- Focus on what motivates you. Whether its listening to a motivational podcast or reading material, stay engaged with content that inspires you.
- Honesty – be honest with yourself about how you feel, what your goals are, and who you are. Don’t compromise yourself in order to achieve something you might not want.
There are several different ways that you can observe Never Give Up Day 2022.
To stay motivated yourself, take time to watch, listen or read some motivational material, it may help to keep a journal where you can jot down ideas and inspiration that you draw from it.
You can also motivate the people around you. maybe you have a friend who is facing a challenging time in academia for example, send them a text message to let them know they are doing a great job and not to give up.
Sometimes just one message of encouragement is all that is required.
